Whenever I am in a new country, one of my favourite things to do is to check out the local convenience stores to discover new snacks and drinks. There is even hot food and desserts available there sometimes like in this case or you can also do take aways from restaurants to go along with your snacks. Then I like to come to my room and assemble my haul from all the different places on the table and enjoy what I have coined as a “Room Picnic”. It is incredibly satisfying and I highly recommend trying it out!

Whenever I am in a new country, one of my favourite things to do is to check out the local convenience stores to discover new snacks and drinks. There is even hot food and desserts available there sometimes like in this case or you can also do take aways from restaurants to go along with your snacks. Yes I did not visit Mount Fuji during my Japan Trip, I just saw it from my bullet train ride from Osaka to Tokyo instead! For a person like me who had limited time as I had taken a short vacation to Japan, the decision was between spending an extra day exploring more of Tokyo or taking a day trip to Mount Fuji. I chose the former as there was too much to see and do in Tokyo and I needed that extra day to cover more of this amazing city. As I got to see Mount Fuji from the train itself, I saved the time and energy of taking the day trip and spent more time in Tokyo instead. Mount Fuji can be seen for a few minutes during the bullet train ride from Osaka to Tokyo or vice versa. Keep checking your google maps location as it appears only for a short duration and you can easily miss it! For seats with Mount Fuji view, choose seats D and E, the same applies in both directions i.e Osaka to Tokyo and Tokyo to Osaka.

The best feature of this restaurant was the genius complimentary tasting platter that is given before you choose your main courses, that lets you sample many of the dishes they have so you can decide which ones you like the best and then order them! Thanks to this platter we did not have to wonder whether our choices were right,we could make an informed decision. That being said all the dishes on the tasting platter were really delicious and it was pretty hard to pick some favourites! I wish more restaurants implement something as innovative as this!

Yes it was worth it for me! You can decide for yourself on a cost vs benefit basis. The intensity of crowds is overwhelming in Japanese Theme Parks. Waiting in lines for more than an hour at least for popular attractions is very common but for someone like me for who wanted to spend only half a day at the park and explore Osaka for the rest of the day, the Express Pass was totally worth it. I chose the Universal Express Pass 4 Fun Variety, it gave me express access to Mario Kart Koopa’s Challenge, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem and Jaws. There are many combinations of express pass available on their official site based upon your preferences. Mario Kart and Harry Potter rides are time based, so you have to choose your preferred timings and as I booked 2 months in advance I had lot of options to choose from. This also gave me a timed entry into Super Nintendo World (SNW). A timed entry is a must if you want to visit SNW however express pass is not the only way to get a timed entry into SNW. For eg. Klook sells an add on payable timed entry ticket for SNW at the time when you purchase the Universal Studio Pass from their site. I also noticed that the cost of the same express pass kept rising closer to the date of my visit. So if possible plan in advance but note it is not cancellable hence plan accordingly. I was able to go through the whole park with the 4 rides, snacks, a sit down meal and souvenir shopping all between 10:30 am to 3:30pm despite the Halloween Rush. We had our sit down meal before the lunch rush, we went to the restaurant at around 11:15 am so yes a plan of action for the entire park is must or half your day will go just waiting in lines. I ate the popular mario strawberry pancake during breakfast time as the lines were short, the same lines in the afternoon were huge so these are some tips you can follow too. The above is as per my experience in October 2024, do visit their official website for the latest updates and do your own research as well.
