Must Try Things At Mall Of The Emirates - Things To Eat at Mall Of The Emirates

There are many tasty treats one can eat at Mall of the Emirates, Dubai. Mall of the Emirates, although similar to Dubai Mall in many aspects, is not as crowded. I find it to be much more accessible and I always try to stay at a hotel connected to this mall. That gives me direct access to the mall and I can safely have a late-night meal or grab a quick bite and then be back in my room in a matter of five minutes. Here are a few of my favorite places to eat at Mall of the Emirates.

COMMON GROUNDS

Don't let Common Grounds' casual vibe fool you. When it comes to food and coffee, they mean business. The atmosphere of this restaurant was welcoming with its wooden chairs and tables accentuated with quirky flower/plant pots. I felt calm and relaxed entering this space. It was an ideal spot for breakfast or brunch, with fresh and wholesome bowls, eggs, waffles, pancakes and more. I tried their amazing avocado toast which had an extra layer of creaminess thanks to the ricotta on its base. With a squirt of lemon and some chili flakes on it, each bite was a flavor explosion. The blueberry and ricotta hotcakes were out of this world served with caramelized bananas, whipped mascarpone and maple syrup. The combination of the hot fluffy pancake with the freshness of the blueberry, the indulgent gooey bananas and the light and creamy mascarpone was simply yum!

We also tried the Vegan Lentil Tacos, which were so fresh and zesty. They were filled with creamy avocado, sauteed mushrooms, fresh sprouts, radishes and a bowl full of flavour. The coffee as well was simply delightful, we loved the Spanish latte - cold with coconut milk. The coffee quality was exceptional considering they have a tie-up with the specialty coffee roasting brand Encounter Coffee Roasters.

L'ETO CAFFE

If you are wondering what a dessert heaven would look like, look no further than the display counters at L'eto. This cafe chain which originated in London aims to bring the feeling of eternal summer through its ambiance and food. The display is almost picture perfect with a huge variety of gorgeous looking and tasty desserts in a variety of colors. It's hard not to want to try them all, they are so pretty. Sometimes pretty desserts are only pretty to look at but not to eat. That's not the case at L'eto, everything tastes as good as it looks.

We were obsessed with the honey cake here, layers of intensely honey-like cake filled with a creamy light filling and added texture with walnuts and biscuit crumbs. Each layer clearly visible and such a delight to run your fork through.

The Spanish latte was so innovatively served with the ice cubes being frozen coffee and lightly heated milk was added to it, to melt the ice cubes creating an irresistible coffee concoction.

The Australian avocado rye bread tartine was so creamy and rich. The richness was cut perfectly by the most red, juicy and sweet cherry tomatoes I have ever eaten in my entire life.

The croissant was absolutely perfect, buttery, flaky and crisp. I also had the mozzarella melt croissant and that too was so decadent. It was an absolute pleasure to have breakfast here, the freshness, flavor and decadent desserts truly made this place a treat to visit.

CHEESECAKE FACTORY

The cheesecake factory chain in Dubai is fantastically maintained and run. As I always say, I find it much better in Dubai than in the US. They have an extensive menu of tasty treats and everything I have tried there has had excellent quality and flavor. Their portions are enormous, so I suggest, if you want to save some space for cheesecake, order a little lesser than you usually would.

First off try their brown rye bread which they serve complimentary, fresh and hot. It has this beautiful hint of sweetness and malt flavour that is so indulgent with butter. In the drinks I love the berry spritzer, its strawberry and other berries blended and served with sprite. I used to love their guacamole and chips and avocado toast but they discontinued it :( Currently, in their food, I absolutely love their fettucine alfredo, it's creamy, cheesy and well-seasoned.

We also absolutely love their veggie burger with an innovative patty made of mushrooms, brown rice, black beans and more.

Another really good dish was cauliflower tacos, the cauliflower was crispy and covered in a spicy sweet sauce and served with yummy rice and beans.

In the desserts after having tried many cheesecakes of their's, the best one that I would recommend is hands down the fresh strawberry cheesecake. It's their most popular flavor and for good reason. As you get to eat the original cheesecake and the fresh strawberries perfectly cut through the sweetness of the same.

Another must-try dessert is the hot fudge sundae, creamy vanilla ice cream topped with toasted almonds, whipped cream and a rich chocolate fudge sauce. The hot fudge sauce is not too sweet and hence perfectly contrasts with the sweet vanilla ice cream. It is truly a match made in food heaven.

DIN TAI FUNG

This restaurant always has a rush whenever it is open, day and night I always saw a rush there. And for good reason, their service is quick and efficient, the food quality top notch and they have incorporated more veggie dishes in their menu recently. I have tried this brand in London as well but personally found it better in Dubai. My two absolute favorite dishes there are the dan dan noodles in spicy sesame peanut sauce and the vegetable fried rice.

The dan dan noodles are chewy and freshly made served with an intensely rich peanut sauce.

The vegetarian fried rice has great umami flavor and fresh crunchy veggies with perfectly cooked sticky rice. Whenever I have visited there, the quality has always been on point and to watch the food be freshly made (their kitchen is see-through) is a nice added touch.

KOI THE MOE

I am an absolute bubble tea fan. Caramelized brown sugar in milk with popping boba, it's simply delightful and it never gets old for me. My go-to drink there was always brown sugar milk tea with golden bubbles. I could have glasses and glasses of it. The people at Koi are very friendly and they make an excellent boba tea, so do try it out.

SAID DAL 1923

I had been hunting for this place ever since I went to London. I guess I had seen it in the Buzzfeed best hot chocolates video. It was also viral on Instagram with three types of chocolate poured over the rim of your hot chocolate cup. I was so happy to have found it in Dubai as I missed out on it in London. The people were very helpful and helped me capture the perfect video for my Instagram.

The hot chocolate was alright but the chocolate sauces (white milk and dark chocolate sauce) surrounding it were absolutely delicious. I would hence suggest trying one of their desserts topped with the three chocolate sauces as they taste sublime.

JOE THE JUICE

This was a complete fluke. We went in looking for an orange juice and were surprised to find out they do not serve it! We were ready to walk back out but then got lost in vast and colourful menu and there was one particular concoction that did look quite nice. It was called pick me up, a combination of strawberry, apple and banana - it was rich, creamy and yummylicious. When you get tired walking around the mall or are in the mood for some respite from the Dubai heat, this energizing drink will make you feel much better.

ROOM PICNIC

This is a concept of mine which I highly recommend everyone to try when they visit a city filled with malls and many eateries close by. When you are too tired to eat a sit-down meal, you can use it to your advantage to take away a bunch of things to your room and eat in the comfort of the same. There may also be some items you may want to try from the grocery store or the food court which will not make up an entire meal. But together it will form a good room buffet spread! Our haul included some local flavored milk and juices, local candies and chips from the supermarket in Mall of the Emirates that we wanted to try. Along with that, we got veggie burgers from Mc Donalds and fries, a falafel wrap and hummus dip from the famous Al Baik food chain (these were at the food court). For desserts, we got an eclair and mille-feuille from the famous Paul Cafe. So I got to try a variety of things from the comfort of my room.

So these are some of my personal favorite places to eat at Mall of the Emirates. Thank you for reading❤️
